7th Annual Alumni Homecoming Event at Palazzo Versace Hotel in Dubai

alumni photo IMG_8916   Al Falasi commends University of Dubai alumni role in enriching education sector Dubai, May 2, 2016: Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education Affairs, urged more than 300 Alumni from the University of Dubai to continue their efforts to enrich the education sector with new ideas and supply the work market with best human resources in the country. Dr. Al Falasi stated this while addressing the 7th Annual Alumni Homecoming event at Palazzo Versace hotel in Dubai. The reunion event, in support of UD Alumni Association, was attended by representatives from the public and private sectors. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Eesa M. Al Bastaki, President of University of Dubai, said: ìUniversity of Dubai, which prides itself for offering quality education, aims to make Dubai and UAE a hub of international education along with other quality universities in the country.î The event witnessed the participation of members of University of Dubai Board of Trustees headed by the President of the Board, Majid Al Shamsi. Several members of the Dubai Chamber Board of Trustees also attended the event. The Minister of Higher Education handed over awards of appreciation to the most active and successful UD alumni this year. The event took place as UD Alumni Association celebrates this year its 10th anniversary. The Association is headed by its alumni member Sheikh Mohammed Maktoum Juma Al Maktoum. Ahmad Falasi, the Association Vice President delivered a speech on behalf of Sheikh Al Maktoum stating that the Association which raised more than AED 2 million in funds recently, supported many UD students to enable them to continue their educations. He added that the Association is considered one of the most active and successful alumni associations because of its unique programmes such as; Alumni Student Mentoring Programme, Alumni Continuous Learning Programme, Alumni Guest Speaker Series and Alumni and Friends of the University of Dubai Scholarship Funds. The speakers praised the generous sponsorship of Nakheel, one of the worldís leading real estate developers, whose video showing its world-famous projects was played at the event.†† They also praised the Alumni Team headed by Ms. Amina El Marzak who was instrumental in founding the Association 10 years ago.† Entertainment and valuable prizes were part of the agenda.
