The Student Alumni Affairs (SAA), in collaboration with Students Union and groups at University of Dubai organized yesterday the International Festival Day at UD campus. Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki, the president of UD attended the opening ceremony, cut the ribbon announcing the start of the Festival, and congratulated the students for a well-organized event. Furthermore, he urged them to always contribute to community activities. Mr. Abdallah Amiri, the President of Student Union welcomed the attendees (staff, faculty and students), commended his peers for a well done job and promised continued efforts to grow that event into a larger festival next year.
Students Clubs participated in the Festival were; UAE, Iraqi, Syrian, Lebanese, Palestinian and the Environmental Club. Food, music and cultural performance were the main attractions of the Festival. The Syrian and Palestinian clubs provided performance of national Dabbka and Dance while UAE club provided competitive games. At the end of the Festival, a raffle draw for 2 Mini Ipad was conducted and a Fire art performance concluded the Festival.
