University of Dubai Holds Its First MBA Networking Event The Master of Business Administration program at University of Dubai held yesterday its first MBA networking Event at Conrad Hotel in Dubai. Scores of MBA students, faculty members, professionals and business representatives attended the event. Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki, president of UD, reiterated his commitment to quality in education and said that ìour mission is to provide best education and serve UAE through diverse programs needed to promote Smart Education.î He added that UD continues with its plan to promote educational programs in Smart Tourism and Smart Cities centers. Dr. Ananth Rao listed UD achievements in providing more professional opportunities to its MBA student saying that international accreditations and certificates open wide the employment opportunities to UD students and advance their chances in leadership and management. Ms. Geetu Ahuja, Head of GCC ñ Middle East of CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountant) explained the benefits of CIMA for MBA students. She said following the MOU signed with UD, all MBA students will be automatically certified by CIMA as passed finalists upon their graduation, if they take the opportunity to sit for a maximum of 3 CIMA exams along with their MBA studies.† She added that CIMA ensures that “our students are first choice for employers who are recruiting professionally trained business leaders.î Mr. Anthony Degazon, regional manager of ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) addressed the audience saying that University of Dubai gained the ILM certificates because it succeeded in providing high quality academic programs that match international standards. He added that certification Levels 5 and 7 offered automatically to UD students improve their prospects in gaining top management positions and become effective and influential people in their work environment.
