The University Management Awards the Winners of the Business Plan Competition

The University management awarded yesterday the winners of the Business Plan Competition. The first prize was awarded to Elie Hanna and Alexandre Doll who presented a Mobile App to expedite food service and delivery at restaurants, thereby saving time and increasing their re-order cycle. The second prize went to Abdulrahman Alsrouji and Zaid Alsarayji, who introduced a special dispensing machine for food supplements, which could be used to offer a better service for health-conscious consumers. The third prize went to Farah Al Shaibani and Souraya Aref who presented a plan to establish a children”s nursery school with unique services.   The Business Plan Competition was organized under the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) at University of Dubai in Spring 2015, to inspire innovative entrepreneurial ideas among students to generate viable business plans that are financially rewarding. The business plans were reviewed by a panel committee based on various technical and financial criteria. The panel members were satisfied with the quality of presentations and innovative ideas put forward by the participants. The CEI was established under the University of Dubai”s umbrella in the Fall of 2014-15 as a research and consultancy platform for students, alumni, and faculty to network, collaborate and develop ideas. The CEI supports entrepreneurs through various stages of the entrepreneurial process to create a culture that fosters innovation and turns ideas into practice.
