UD Plays a Major Part in UAE Drones for Good Award

IMG_0526 IMG_0413 As the Chairman of the Judging Committee of the UAE Drones for Good Award, President of the University of Dubai (UD) Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki along with a group of UD students attended the Dronesí Award Ceremony held on February 17th and 18th, 2017, in presence of Crown Prince of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who honored the winners. Not only UD President and students showed their efficacy in the Award, but also the Dean of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at UD Professor Hussain Al Ahmad who was as a member of the Judging Committee for the award. The UAE Drones for Good Award was designed by the UAE government to embrace the most innovative and creative minds and help them find solutions that will improve peopleís lives and provide positive technological solutions to modern day issues. Dr. Al Bastaki commented on the event saying: ìas an educational institution, our role is to motivate students to get involved in future innovative technologies that serve our country and the rest of the world.î He also extended his gratitude to the members of the judging committee who exerted great efforts in establishing fair and strict criteria to raise the competitionís standards.
