The University of Dubai Launches a Scholarship Under the Name of Emirati Businessman Adel Al Kamel

The University of Dubai (UD) launched the “Adel Al Kamel Scholarship for Outstanding Students.” The scholarship is offered for both citizens and residents who obtain a minimum GPA of 95% in high school and maintain high grades during their study period at UD.

Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, thanked Mr. Al Kamel and spoke about his contributions to the university by supporting its mission and vision to maintain its academic excellence and international standards through his own company “Site- Global” for advertising and marketing. Dr. Al Bastaki said that “Mr. Al Kamel has provided the University with great advertising and marketing materials from 2017 to the current year, out of his belief in the university’s pioneering role in supporting the quality of education.

Dr. Al Bastaki also urged business people, philanthropists and donors to provide scholarships for outstanding students and financial support for students who are financially struggling to serve the education sector in the UAE. He pointed out that strengthening the relationship between business people, universities, and higher education institutions is fundamental at this stage to support outstanding and talented students who are unable to continue their studies for financial reasons. “The role of the private sector is critical in creating a positive and promising environment for every hardworking and capable student,” he added.

Mr. Adel Al Kamel said that he is honored that the University of Dubai has granted him this excellent opportunity to support outstanding students. He pointed out that the university has set an example of quality education in the UAE through its programs that introduce students to entrepreneurship experiences and jobs in the private and public sectors.

He added that the private sector should play a prominent role in strengthening the positive relationship with educational institutions and providing the necessary tools to enable these institutions to enter the world of scientific research and academic competitiveness and excellence.

Samar Mahmoud, Head of the Admissions Department at the University of Dubai, said that the university had provided Al Kamel scholarship grants to five outstanding students to study Business Administration, Information Technology or Electrical Engineering.

She added that the University would offer these five scholarships every year for students who meet the University’s admission requirements; Terms and conditions apply.

She noted that the university also provides educational grants up to 50% on tuition fees for all students who have achieved up to 90% or above in high school. She added that there are many other grants and discounts, in addition to the possibility of financial support through the Alumni and Friends of the University of Dubai Scholarship Fund.
