Dubai Business School Holds Its 4th International Conference on Advances in Business & Law 2020

Dubai Business College at the University of Dubai (DBS-UD) organized the 4th International Conference on Advances in Business & Law 2020 (ICABL) on November 21-22 through the Zoom platform. The event was held over two days during which an opening ceremony, presentation sessions and the closing ceremony took place. The main aim of the conference is to share knowledge and expertise in the broad areas of finance, economics, management, and law by academics from developed and emerging economies. The conference theme of the 4th edition of ICABL is: “New Frontiers in Management and Finance”. The conference which was attended by more than 40 academics, covered the latest research findings, current practices, and theoretical developments in economics, finance, accounting, management, marketing, banking, leadership, law, entrepreneurship, strategy, e-commerce, tourism, business ethics, human resources and many others. Prizes were awarded in the following areas: Best Paper Award and Best Student Paper Award.

This year’s conference featured high-quality research paper presentations in concurrent sessions in addition to international keynote speakers; Dr. Noah Raford, Futurist-in-Chief and Chief of Global Affairs at the Dubai Future Foundation, UAE and Prof. Marco Vivarelli, Economics Professor at the Catholic University of Milano and Director of the Department of Economic Policy.

On the first day of the event, UD President Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki welcomed the attendees and delivered a speech in which he highlighted the importance of exploring new opportunities and challenges in the fields of finance, business, and law. “Every year, we invite academics and professionals to contribute to the conference by presenting their papers, participating in the discussion forums, and attending the workshops,” he added.

Dr. Rahim Hussain, the Conference Chair, stated that the University of Dubai is dedicated to organizing such events despite Covid-19 pandemic and its hardship. He also invited researchers to participate in the 5th edition of the ICABL conference that will be held in Nov 2021.
