During the meeting with Dr. Al Bastaki, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between both parties who agreed to encourage knowledge sharing and leverage their key resources.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Egyptian universities namely Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Gohary, President of the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology, Prof. Essam ElKordi, President of Al Alamein International University, Prof. Moawad Mohamed El-Khouly, President of New Mansoura University, from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Eng. Anwar Ismail, Assistant Minister for National Projects, and Dr. Mohamed El-Sharqawy, Associate Minister for Finance and Investment.
On the other hand, Dr. Hussain Al-Ahmad, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nasser Al-Muraqab, Vice President for Administrative Affairs as well as the college deans represented the University of Dubai during the meeting.
After welcoming the visiting delegation, Dr. Al Bastaki highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation and activating areas of contribution to foster joint research and encourage exchange of resources in different disciplines. “We urge our faculty members and students to enroll for a semester or an entire academic year in one of the reputable Egyptian universities that visited us today,” he said. He also praised the development of modern technological universities established in Egypt during the past few years.
In the end, Dr. Al Bastaki gave a general explanation about the colleges offered at the University of Dubai, its research centers, smart building, programs and future strategic plans.
Similarly, the visiting educational delegation provided a comprehensive explanation about research centers, colleges in addition to the strategic plans for the development of higher education in Egypt in various fields and specializations across Egyptian universities.
They also expressed admiration for UD’s progressive development over the past years, its rapidly-growing research capabilities, refined programs and innovative study plans.
