An Advanced Moot Arbitration Reveals Proficiency at UD

img_1124 img_1141 Advanced Arbitration Class performed a ìMoot Arbitrationî at the University of Dubaiís College of Law on November 27th, 2016. At the court, the case or the dispute which was brought forward narrates the story of a business man (Claimant) against a cotton supplier (Respondent). The Claimant has filed a claim under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules for damages resulting from delivery of faulty cloth, non-delivery of 250 suits and damages due to leaked designs by the Respondent. The Respondent filed a defense and counterclaim for payment due for delivery of cotton bales as stipulated in the contract between†both parties.   The Director of the College Dr. Muhammad Rababía was appointed the arbitrator.   During the hearing, both teams have shown a remarkable understanding of arbitration and exhibited superior advocacy skills.   The entire academic staff of the College of Law and many students were in attendance during the hearing to support both teams morally.
