DEWA and UD Grant 10 Scholarships for Locals †

  DSC_9799 The University of Dubai (UD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to provide 10 scholarships per year for local students who aim to earn a degree in Information Systems Security and Electrical Engineering in Communications at UD. The MoU was signed by H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, and H.E. Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki, UD President. “Responding to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we at DEWA are trying our best to integrate all initiatives within our mission and help provide a decent life for the UAE people and society,” said Al Tayer. He added that DEWA has integrated the Emiratisation strategy within its objectives to support Emirati talents. ìThrough our scholarship program for UAE nationals in the top universities inside and outside the UAE, we create a generation of leaders in the fields of energy and water,” Dr. Al Bastaki said: “UD seeks to sign agreements of academic nature with national institutions such as DEWA in order to encourage and develop education in all disciplines, especially in engineering and information technologies.î He added: ìOur goal at UD is to support the quality of education in the UAE and recruit outstanding students who would have the potential to advance and serve the UAE community.î
