Dubai, March 16, 2015: The Emirati Club at University of Dubai organised a Spring Carnival for†needy children and their caretakers at Dubai Creek Park in collaboration with Cares†Ambassadors, a volunteer community service group of Al Shabab Al Arabi Club. The event offered a day of fun activities and games for large number of orphans, 70 of them†who were physically challenged, and honoured the surrogate mothers of these children as part†of Motherís Day celebrations. The event had the participation of Beit Al Khair Society and was†sponsored by Aswaaq. The Organising Committee of the event included representatives from†the University of Dubai and Cares Ambassadors. University of Dubai organised the initiative in line with its commitment to the vision of His†Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the†UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve happiness for all segments of society in the UAE. Dr. Eesa M. Al Bastaki, President of University of Dubai, Mohammed Ibrahim from Cares†Ambassadors volunteer group, Abdul Hamid Alkhashabbi from Aswaaq, and Fatima Dashti,†Director of the Association of Beit Al Khair – Al Barsha, were present at the event. The programme included sports competitions and games in the presence of artists and†representatives from the UAE and celebrities on social media. An activities workshop for†children was organised under the supervision of artist couple Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Sayed and his†wife Rehab. Abdulwahab Al Hosni, a member of Cares Ambassadors along with artist Abdullah†Juffali offered entertainment activities, including interaction with Salloum cartoon character.†The children and their supervisors also enjoyed Emirati food on the occasion. On the occasion, artist Abdulrahman al-Azzawi presented a song describing a motherís feelings†for her children. The event concluded with the Organising Committee distributing gifts to the†children and their caretakers.
