On the occasion of Hag Al Laila which is an annual occasion in the middle of Sha’aban and the eighth month in the Islamic Hijri calendar, Draw a Smile team at the University of Dubai (UD) visited three places to distribute more than 160 gift bags for children and spread happiness and positivity. As per yearly tradition, the University of Dubai prepares for the arrival of the Holy month of Ramadan two weeks in advance. The places the team visited were Senses for Special Needs in Dubai, Family Village in Dubai, and Emirates Autism center in Abu Dhabi.
Student Services Executive Mohammed Mustafa who is guiding this student-led project said that “the secret behind living a fulfilling life is simple: it is not about what you have, it is about what you give. Creating joy for those who are really in need makes a huge difference in people’s lives.” He added that the University of Dubai is about to arrange a visit to the Dubai Autism Center to raise awareness about Autism during the World Autism Awareness Week where the team will provide educational items and school kits for the children of the center to use during the upcoming Academic year.
