The University of Dubai (UD) organized a remote celebration of the UAE Flag Day through the “Zoom” platform, during which the flag was hoisted at the University’s building in Dubai Academic City. The e-event was attended by members of the educational and administrative bodies, in addition to students and graduates.
The celebration began with the speech of UD’s Vice President Dr. Nasser Al-Murraqqab, who thanked everyone for their participation in this day.
UD President Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki said that today, we raise the Emirati flag to confirm once again that we live in a country of tolerance, love and prosperity. In the UAE, there is no discrimination between people based on race, color, or religion. “What separates people here from each other is only their good deeds and continued successes in the land of opportunities and the country of peace, security and safety,” he added. He also emphasized the vision of the founding leader Sheikh Zayed who focused on building people and human capacities first before building factories, because people are those who will build factories later. He continued: “Raising this flag means that we value life, security and harmony in the UAE. The difference between people lies in their business plans and strategies.” The initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, are tailored towards helping the world without discrimination, and this wise leadership will continue with its humanitarian concerns. Finally, he expressed his wishes for peace and harmony to prevail across the globe.
