Dubai, December 9, 2014: The University of Dubai announced today that its Human Resources Management Major at Faculty of Business Administration (BBA) received the high profile certification by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). The Association, which is the world’s largest of its kind devoted to human resource management, is a US accredited organization. The certification comes as good news for all University of Dubai students and alumni who studied Human Resources Management (HRM). The international organization announced that University of Dubaiís HRM curriculum ìfully aligns with SHRMís curriculum guidebook and templatesî. This additional global recognition helps graduates and current undergraduate students at the university studying HRM to directly apply for the SHRM professional examination and certification. Throughout the world, only 365 similar programs have been acknowledged by SHRM as being in alignment with its suggested guides and templates. Dr. Eesa M. Al Bastaki, President of University of Dubai, congratulated the Faculty of Business Administration (BBA) on this academic achievement, and reflected on a previous achievement when BBA received similar acknowledgement by the Institute of Leadership Management (ILM) in UK. Al Bastaki said SHRM certification is equally and highly valued by many employers globally. He urged students to take advantage of international recognitions, especially in the field of human resources management. Israa Shaheen, a graduate student of University of Dubai, said: ìThe SHRM certification is certainly a great source of happiness for students of HRM and comes as another feather in the cap of University of Dubai. I congratulate the university on this remarkable achievement. With this certification in place, the university has made it possible for students like me to easily apply for the SHRM professional examination.î
